Session 3 (Here Master M. refers back to the resting place.)
Somewhere in the scheme of things you will become unaware of the specific outcome on your personal path. Do not become disheartened at this time, for we see and know the progress you are making.
But remember the time you will need for the resting period. This is extremely hard for some, and for others a piece of cake.
Personality will actually determine the style in which you wait.
Are you intense in your lifestyle; or are you calm and subdued? Are you easygoing; or are you intense? It does not matter to us; and it should not matter to you. But it will effect how you handle the time in the rest period.
This one knows all too well that at certain intervals the rest can become intense. Especially if you do not understand what is actually happening to you.
Fears or disillusionment can creep in.
Your emotional makeup will also determine how you respond to this time period.
Sometimes we watch your progress and realize that if we could only come and assist you in the physical, it might be easier.
Remember at all times that this rest period is a time of healing, learning, and remembering. You are integrating all that you have learned. Your mind, body and soul need this time to rest, understand, and assimilate every change and healing that has taken place.
Let us re-emphasize this rest period for you.
I will list some of the experiences that may or may not occur. Each person is unique and special, but there are commonalities that are associated with this period of time.
· Lethargy, both physically and emotionally.
· Sadness and/or depression.
· A feeling of being disconnected to that higher guidance you have discovered.
· Feeling you are lost and do not know how to continue.
· A desire to move ahead, but you don’t know the way to go.
· Discontent with all the old or worn out ideologies in organized religion, jobs, and relationships.
· A need to separate from old friends and patterns of behavior that no longer support the new you. (Let us emphasize that we do not mean you will cut off or abandon your dearest friend and family members. But you will realize that you are changing, and you need something different in your personal relationships.
· You will desire to expand upon your knowledge of things that are now more interesting to you.
Many will not understand the changes in you and they will tell you so; this is because they are uncomfortable with the new you OR they are in fear of losing you in the relationship.
The amount of time that this takes is really up to the person experiencing it. For some it is a short time, but for others it can take weeks or months. Please do not despair at this time. When the rest period is over, the light at the end of the tunnel is so much brighter.
At the end of the rest period you will then begin again. Each step you take in your healing and learning path will reveal a greater understanding of yourself and what you truly desire in this life.
You may begin to investigate past lives to better understand yourself. Let us say at this juncture that if you do this you need to investigate the therapist extensively. For this therapy can reveal much to you. Be sure you have chosen the most highly qualified individual. Trust is extremely important, and ethics of the highest caliber is a must!
Please use a qualified hypnotherapist, guide, or trained life coach or doctor who is highly experienced. Have we emphasized this enough? Good!
There are great gains to be found along this path of investigation.
Begin a search in the energy field. Reiki, Polarity Therapy, Integrated Energy Therapy. Each has a different name but the energy is the same. Just a different technique.
Read books that you are drawn to.
Pray and meditate! Now here is a very important thing to do.
Meditation is the most accurate method of connection to the higher source.
Here is where the need for discipline is extremely important.
Are you willing to take the necessary time to dedicate yourself to this method of connection?
It really is not as hard as some make it out to be.
Begin small and with short time periods. Fifteen minutes at first. Slowly add a minute each week to meditation.
Now here are a few suggestions to make the meditation enjoyable.
· Prepare the place you will meditate in.
· Soften lights and or light candles.
· Play soft relaxing music in the back ground. The music should not be the kind that beats loud or fast. Slow, methodical will do the job. Music can relax the body and the mind.
· Remove anything that will distract you. Telephone, computers. Etc.
Remember, we said this takes a measure of discipline on your part.
How much are you willing to do to get the results you want? This is what you need to ask yourself daily.
Time is of the essence, and you will need to make some kind of time-sacrifice to be diligent.
In the scheme of your work day, fifteen minutes is not that big of a deal.
We understand the children need you; the phone is ringing, meals to prepare, your boss is asking more time from you etc.
We are trying to emphasize this necessity of daily meditation.
In the course of training yourself to meditate, you will reap great rewards.
Spiritually speaking, your connection to the inner self and then the higher realms of wisdom will increase. This is the goal and purpose of meditation.
Let’s not forget the relaxation it provides to the body and the mind!
Join group mediation. The energy there will be comforting and encouraging. But don’t forget the alone time too!
Next; write down all that you experience in the meditation, even if you think it is nothing. Was there a feeling, color or idea that surfaced during the meditation?
You see this is what a meditation is: going inside yourself and listening to your higher mind!
Not all meditation is total silence. In fact, most meditation will reveal or bring to the surface what you need at the time!
You may think you are talking to yourself and decide to ignore the self. What a pity! For this is the highest form of intelligence you can receive in the beginning.
All meditation should be positive at all times. If at any time you are not in a positive place, discontinue that particular meditation time.
Let us explain further here.
When you are in crisis of some kind, no matter what it may be, your meditation may feel the same way.
If this occurs, just stop. Try again the next day and see the difference.
When you are seeking higher guidance and you are in chaos, you will probably need to settle yourself before you connect.
Anger and suffering is very emotional and it may or may not affect your meditation state.
Each of you is quite unique!
Meditation feeds the soul. Prayer feeds the spirit. Pray everyday, often.
Have you ever talked to yourself? This is a form of prayer. You are seeking to connect to yourself. If you do not realize this, you are heard when you seek us out loud.
Now of course you may be a person who prays always. How wonderful for you and our Heavenly Father. For you have already discovered the Love that can be felt and understood. However, some have not learned or liked this idea of prayer. But then again that is another subject that will not be addressed now. This is a future subject and one that can be highly controversial for many.
Thus far all that we have shared with you is very simple and easy to accomplish. Have you begun yet?
But let us back track to meditation.
Here are a few tricks of the trade.
· Set the atmosphere.
· Sit upright. Do not lie down.
· Clothes should be comfortable.
· No external distraction.
· Fifteen minutes to start.
Now you are ready to begin.
Breath work is so important to shift the mental activity from the left side of the brain to the right side of the brain.
Begin inhaling through your nose as deeply as you can. Place the tip of your tongue at the roof of your mouth and slowly and in a controlled manner exhale all the breath out of your MOUTH. You will notice that if you are exhaling properly you will hear the exhalation. This is exactly how it should be. Continue this breath work for about 3 minutes to begin.
You will notice how differently you begin to feel. It may feel as though you are light-headed. Yes, this is good, for the energy is shifting your consciousness.
Next, just sit and listen to your heart beat. When your mind shifts back to daily activity, tell it to go away and once again listen to your heart beat.
You may have to do this many times. This is normal for the beginner.
Allow yourself to enjoy the time here. If you rush, meditation will be a chore instead of a pleasure.
Remember these tips are for the beginner and many of you may be adept at meditation. This is wonderful. Continue, and reap great rewards in doing so.
Most give up when something wondrous or miraculous DOES NOT occur. This is too bad for them, for this is not the purpose of mediation at all. Miracles do occur, but does it have to happen for you in meditation?
Besides, when a miracle does occur it may not be the kind you are looking for.
We will address this subject at another time.
If you are limited in time or the place for meditation is not exactly the most appropriate, do whatever you can.
Just don’t give up!
This is so important in your personal development.
